Immersed in building the tourism economy you want for tomorrow
Wildwood Tourism Consulting (WildwoodTC for short) exists to fill the need for authentic, professional tourism expertise anchored in real experience on our rivers and trails, combined with a real knowledge of outdoor tourists' needs as they align with regional tourism initiatives. We grew frustrated with big city tourism agencies providing cookie cutter 'strategy', with little concern for sustainability, the realities of rural and small communities, or knowledge of the outdoor enthusiasts and their tourism motivation.

We are tourism business owners, have directed DMOs, have a proven track record delivering large scale consulting contracts, and spend every spare minute in the outdoors. We are the real deal in outdoor tourism consulting, with unique skills you won't find with anyone else.

Principal Consultant
Jeff Jackson, Ph.D.
Jeff is considered a leading voice in Canada's trail tourism and recreation based risk management fields. He has worked on projects large and small, with Recreation Sites and Trails B.C., New Brunswick provincial parks and Tourism, Heritage, and Culture, with the Ontario Trails Council, Indigenous tourism groups, and with regional and municipal governments. He sits on several DMO tourism advisory boards and committees, and travels extensively to provide training and keynote presentations. Jeff is a college professor, and in summer runs a fly fishing guide service. His specialty is policy, governance, risk and organizational systems planning.

Principal Consultant
Kate Monahan
Kate left a 13-year career in accounting and financial services to join the adventure tourism industry in 2012. While she would like to say she never looked back, numbers are never far from her. She supported the back end of an industry magazine, a DMO, and an all-women's adventure travel company before shifting into guiding trips which have taken her from Newfoundland to Northwest Territories.
Kate is a college professor, PhD candidate, whitewater canoe guide, and owner of a flatwater canoe tripping company. Her specialties are trip planning, small business management and entrepreneurship, and digital marketing.

Principal Consultant
Chris Melmoth
With close to 40 years of experience in the tourism industry as an adventure guide, educator, senior manager, and consultant, Chris is a leader and innovator specializing in operational and logistical solutions for modern tourism challenges. He holds a Master’s Degree in Tourism Management, and has conducted award winning research focused on community-based tourism development. He has a passion for ecotourism and geotourism, and has worked extensively on development projects with CIDA and other development agencies in Mexico, Central America, Iceland, Africa, and China. Chris is a college professor, past president and a current director of the local DMO, and owner of a cartographic business focusing on recreation and adventure tourism maps.

Rob Faubert
Rob is a professional photographer and videographer who specializes in outdoor and adventure imagery. His work has been featured in magazines and catalogues across the outdoor sectors. Most of the photos on this website are his, and he is the key to producing world class imagery and graphic design for our clients' projects. You can see a sample of Rob's catalogue of work here.
